World of Warcraft is available now for PC. Players will have to wait until World of Warcraft reveals what this untitled book is about and see if it will be required reading to enjoy Dragonflight. Though pressure from players led World of Warcraft to avoid doing so as much recently, many are already worried this new book could cause WoW to fall into old habits. WoW has a bad habit of hiding some of its most important story developments in books instead of Warcraft video games, forcing players to read every piece of media or risk missing out on major plot arcs. That said, some players are worried about the new World of Warcraft novel. This novel may be the chance for World of Warcraft to explore these stories, or perhaps create new vignettes about other characters in the universe. Its recent expansion left questions on many players' minds, such as the motivation of the Primalists in Dragonflight or the history of Raszageth and the Aspects. This book is the story of World of Warcraft between Mists of Pandarian and Warlords of Draenor expansions. Right now, World of Warcraft is also releasing The Dragonflight Codex: A Definitive Guide to the Dragons of Azeroth, a Dragonflight-themed lore book on August 15, as well as the WoW children’s book, A is for Azeroth: The ABC’s of World of Warcraft, on July 25. World of Warcraft recently released Exploring Azeroth: Northrend–the third installment of the journal-like lore book series it began a few years ago. The novel could face delays or cancelations, even after it is formally announced. The novel has a listed release date of October 31, 2023, though this could easily change in the future. Players can probably assume the novel will tie into Dragonflight, though they can't be certain until its announcement. The untitled novel has no listed author, but will likely be published by Random House Worlds. Now, it seems World of Warcraft is planning its next novel, though the Amazon listing gives very little information on the actual book.
